What can agents learn from Kelloggs Frosties? Tony’s Secret Formula…

With the proliferation of poor-quality leads, increased bureaucracy, and the need for improved workflows and automation, there is a huge niche in the estate agency space for a winning recipe of tech integrations.

Now, there are a seemingly infinite number of suppliers in the space, but very few people advising on how best to put all these tools together.

Controversial, but with the best of intentions, the short-term pressure of getting the invoice out is at times perhaps more important than integrating a product that both a) works and b) enhances the agencies’ abilities to focus on their core function.

We are used to a world of clicking a few buttons to get what we desire. Be that Amazon, Netflix, Google, etc. When we apply this expectation to the world of PropTech, very often these tools have considerable complexity, and a fraction of the tech giants’ budgets to deliver it. It is a recipe for disappointment.

Currently, in the market, there are several estate agencies firms with some incredible systems and processes. When we look at our industry as largely built up of smaller operations, there is incredible value in those with a winning recipe, sharing it with others. The brutal reality is, most agents are too busy being busy to spend the time to develop mastery of an additional skill set to the day job.

The secret ingredient to a successful formula is integrating Agent Response into your systems.

When we reason that there are circa 15,000+ offices in the UK, that is one hell of a market and I would argue that the IP of some firms to the industry, is perhaps worth far more than their value to their chosen local marketplace.

The next 5 years are going to be fascinating in this space, and I can’t wait to see how the titans and the local heroes collaborate to keep improving this wonderful industry.

With every agent having their own Secret Formula of proptech combinations, rather than constantly having to reinvent the wheel, it would be great if we could all work together to continue to raise standards and deliver exceptional results for our clients.

Keep an eye on this blog and if you have any ideas on the kinds of Proptech you would like to see, I would love to hear from you and compare notes. Email [email protected].
