How you can use QR Codes for your Letting Agency

byThe Agent Response Team The Agent Response Team

QR codes are a type of marketing strategy that promotes interaction through smartphones. In the past, if you wanted to provide more information on printed content, you would have to use a URL link and hope that your recipient would take the time and effort to input this URL into their phones. Now, with an easy scan using a smartphone, a QR code can take the user directly to the desired webpage.

So, how can you use this to your benefit within your letting agency?

One of the ways is to create a QR code for your repair reporting system; a popular one is FixFlo, which you can then easily create into stickers, and leave them in the property for easy access for the tenants.

To do this:

  1. Generate a QR code. There are several platforms where you are able to do this, however, we recommend

    QR Code Generator

as this website makes the codes easy to create, and also allows options to change colours and add a logo to make it more personalised. Once created, you need to download this as an image (JPG or PNG).

  2. You then need to find a printer that works with stickers. You may have one locally, or you can use

    VistaPrint

which is an online printer. You can select which shape and size sticker you would like from their various options, then upload your QR code to the sticker. You can select how many you’d like to order.

  3. When the stickers arrive in the post, you can take them with you on your property visits and place one somewhere memorable; perhaps on the inside of a kitchen cupboard door. This way, it can never get lost, and your tenants will always have easy access to report an issue.

You can track how many times your QR code was scanned using the QR Generator Website, where over time you will easily be able to detect how successful your stickers were.

I’d love to know any other ways you are using QR Codes in your agency.
